How we do it

You know that term “fake it ‘til you make it”? Maybe you don’t. Ad agencies use it all the time. And it means “we’ll gladly use your money to figure out how to do something we have no idea how to do.” We don’t do that.

Our team is smart, experienced and confident working seamlessly across all the disciplines. We don’t pretend to be something we’re not. While we’re always improving and learning and teaching each other new things, we’ve got great partners we bring in when we need deep and focused expertise in media planning/buying, SEO/SEM, broadcast/video production, event management, public relations and probably a few other things our clients haven’t asked us to figure out for them yet.

An agency guy through and through, working at large multinationals to small boutique agencies since the 90s. Doug has seen how it all gets done and brings a ton of process and practice experience to JAW. Doug burns more calories overthinking things that he does on his bike ride into the office.

Strategy, project management, creative, technology and keeping the wheels turning are everyday tasks.

David Jones - Partner, Creative Strategist, Copy Chief

Don’t let his full head of white hair fool you, he really is that old.

After many years working in agency conglomerates on the PR, digital and creative sides of the house, David co-founded JAW with a simple, client-focused vision to spend more time working on solving client problems than setting up cross-functional internal agency meetings. He always said “If I ran the place, I’d do it this way…” And now he does run the place and he does do it that way.

He puts his strategy, creative concepting and copywriting experience to work for clients directly every day. And if you’re looking for a really specific job to be done, he probably knows someone who can pull it off for you.

Low-ego, high-fun, David keeps the stress down and the delivery snappy and his clients love him for it.

He’s currently got over 12,000 unread e-mails, but that’s because he only focuses on the important ones.

Nestor Tocitu - Kinda Creative, Maybe Creative, Definitively Creative

He’s the salt’n’pepper of JAW. He’s been well-seasoned in Europe and Canada in some great big ad agencies with Michelin stars and multinational clients. And while he is not a chef, he has all the ingredients to deliver great creative. No, he doesn’t have an old secret recipe that he found in a drawer of a hosier at a garage sale, but he enjoys the thrill of the ride from ideation to execution, the perfection of the details, the creativity of a good strategy, and the reward of the great results.
